What happens to your 3GP

H.263/MPEG-4 video is re-encoded to H.264 and AMR audio to AAC. H.264 3GP files are remuxed.

Tip: These clips are usually 176×144 or 320×240; upscaling cannot add detail, so leave the size at "Original".

Questions

Why is there no sound in my 3GP on my computer?

AMR speech audio is not supported by many players. After conversion it is AAC, which plays everywhere.

Is my 3GP file uploaded?

No. The 3GP is read from your device by FFmpeg running as WebAssembly in the page, and the MP4 is written back to your device. No server ever receives it.

Is there a size limit for 3GP to MP4?

We set none. The practical limit is browser memory: roughly 2 GB of output on a computer, and much less on phones.
