Overview

VideoConvert is a privacy-first video format converter that processes all videos entirely in your browser. We take your privacy seriously and have designed our application to collect zero data.

Data Collection

We collect NO user data. Here's what happens:

Video Files

• Storage: Your video files never leave your device
• Processing: All conversion happens in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm (WebAssembly)
• Upload: We have no servers to upload files to - everything is client-side
• Retention: Files are processed in browser memory and discarded after conversion

Conversion History

• Storage: IndexedDB (browser-local storage only)
• What's Stored: Conversion settings, file names, timestamps, output format
• NOT Stored: Actual video files or video content
• Control: You can clear history anytime using the "Clear History" button
• Retention: User-controlled - stored until you clear it
• Sync: History is NOT synced across devices - stays on your device only

Analytics

We do not use any analytics or tracking services. We have no way to know:

• • Who visits our site
• • What videos you convert
• • How often you use the service
• • Any personal information about you

Cookies

• Essential Only: We use localStorage for user preferences (theme settings, default conversion options)
• No Tracking: No third-party cookies or tracking scripts
• Session Storage: Temporary storage for conversion queue (cleared when you close the tab)

Third-Party Services

FFmpeg.wasm

• Purpose: Client-side video processing library (WebAssembly)
• Data Shared: None - runs entirely in your browser
• Location: Loaded from CDN (unpkg.com), cached by your browser
• Processing: All video processing happens locally in your browser

Vercel Hosting

• Purpose: Static site hosting
• Data Collected: Standard web server logs (IP addresses, timestamps) - NOT stored or analyzed by us
• No Custom Logging: We do not collect or store any logs beyond standard hosting

No Other Services

We do not use:

• • Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Plausible, etc.)
• • Error tracking services
• • A/B testing tools
• • Marketing or advertising services
• • Social media widgets or trackers

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Clear History: Use the "Clear History" button in the History section to remove all conversion history
• Browser Storage: You can clear browser storage manually (Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data)
• No Account: No account or registration required - nothing to delete
• Download Your Data: Your conversion history is stored locally - you can inspect it using browser DevTools

Data Security

• Client-Side Processing: Your videos never travel over the network during conversion
• No Server Storage: We have no databases or servers storing user data
• HTTPS: All site traffic is encrypted via HTTPS
• No File Uploads: Files are never uploaded to any server - they stay on your device
• Memory Isolation: Video processing happens in isolated browser memory (WebAssembly sandbox)

Children's Privacy

VideoConvert does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since all processing happens locally in the browser and we collect no data, the service is safe for users of all ages.

International Users

VideoConvert can be used from anywhere in the world. Since we collect no data and all processing happens in your browser:

Network Requests

• FFmpeg.wasm Loading: One-time CDN request to load WebAssembly library
• Page Assets: Standard HTML/CSS/JS files loaded from Vercel CDN
• No Analytics Beacons: Zero tracking pixels or analytics requests
• No Third-Party APIs: No external API calls during video conversion

Browser Permissions

• File System Access: Requested when you select files (standard browser file picker)
• Storage Quota: Browser may request permission for IndexedDB storage
• No Camera/Microphone: We never request camera or microphone permissions
• No Location: We never request location permissions
